We are currently looking toward expanding our team an\uff44 have started accepting job applications for mid to long-term employment in various positions around Nui.<\/p>\n

First an\uff44 foremost, our fundamental philosophy at Backpackers\u2019 Japan is\u00a0\u201cBeyond all Borders\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Simply put, this means that at our hostels, we strive to create spaces in which people from all walks of life an\uff44 demographics can comfortably spend their time without worrying about their differences.<\/p>\n

We strive to provide this through our accommodation, our bar, kitchen & lounges, where both our staying guests an\uff44 our domestic visitors alike can enjoy good food, drink & music.<\/p>\n

At Nui, more than half of our staying guests are foreigners from all over the world, who on average, stay for 4 nights at a time, with approximately 1000 guests staying per month.<\/p>\n

We are looking for someone who can provide a professional standard of hospitality service, with an open an\uff44 positive approach, so that each an\uff44 every one of our guests can instantly feel comfort able an\uff44 welcome throughout their duration of their stay.<\/p>\n

\u3010\u3000Positions & Roles<\/ins>\u3000\u3011<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since Nui comprises not only of hostel accommodation, but also of a busy caf\u00e9, bar & lounge, many of the positions available require flexibility between each section, with cooperation\u00a0an\uff44\u00a0teamwork with one another a fundamental necessity of the operation of Nui.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u25a0Maintenance<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Roles include: daily extensive cleaning of each guest room, each toilet \u00a0each shower room, ground floor bar an\uff44 lounge, an\uff44 6th<\/sup>\u00a0floor common area. Since accommodation is a very important part of Nui, a high standard of maintenance duties are expected. Maintenance is performed by a team of 3-4 people daily, an\uff44 requires a strong sense of teamwork.<\/p>\n

\u25a0Reception<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Roles include: Checking in guests, maintenance of our guest\u2019s stored luggage, general tourism information support, answering the telephone, reservation maintenance, an\uff44 lounge support. There is a lot to remember an\uff44 there is a lot of responsibility, however it provides the most amount of communication with guests.<\/p>\n

Requirement: Advanced spoken an\uff44 written English, proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a plus.<\/p>\n

\u25a0Barista<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Roles include: Serving coffee & breakfast from 8:00 till 18:00, not only to our staying guests but to our walk-in visitors as well. Providing extensive information about the coffee being served.<\/p>\n

Requirements: Experience as a barista using an espresso machine.<\/p>\n

\u25a0Bar Tender\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 Roles include: professional service of beverages between 18:00 till 25:00, working the till, taking orders, managing the music, lighting an\uff44 general atmosphere of the bar & lounge. It is the bar tenders responsibility to direct the flow of the evening service an\uff44\u00a0 therefore there is a sense of responsibility in keeping a & fun environment.<\/p>\n

Requirements: No experience needed except for an interest in the service of beverages.<\/p>\n

\u25a0Kitchen\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0– Roles include: Preparation for dinner service, cooking at dinner service. Those working in the kitchen have the opportunity of creating new seasonal menus.<\/p>\n

\u25a0State of Employment\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 Part-time employment with the prospect of moving into full-time employment.<\/p>\n

\u25a0Location<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Nui. HOSTEL & BAR LOUNGE<\/p>\n

\u25a0Hourly wage\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 950 yen (910 yen during training period), prospect of raise an\uff44\u00a0o\uff52 a fixed salary.<\/p>\n

\u25a0Work System<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Shift system, either morning o\uff52 evening shifts.<\/p>\n

\u25a0W king Hours<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 7:00-16:00 \/ 9:00-18:00 \/ 10:00-18:00 \/ 17:00-close<\/p>\n

\u25a0Additional Expenses<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 transport expenses provided, social insurance provided for part time employees.<\/p>\n
